” According to reliable sources, the Cameroonian government has decided to launch an “assault” on my residence where I have been held hostage since the 20 September 2020 by security forces equipped with an arsenal worthy of theatres of war.
Although unaware of the contours of this “assault” project, it should in all likelihood be in line with the actions of Mr. BIYA who has ruled this country for four decades by contempt and terror. In response to the legitimate demands of the people peacefully expressed during the 22 September marches, the regime has resorted to disproportionate and unprecedented violence and repression against Cameroonians with bare hands, of whom more than 600, illegally arrested and detained, are victims of torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment. As in Bamenda in October 2016, the calls for dialogue and consultation are met by the regime with nothing but terror and judicial barbarism.
Our time has undoubtedly come to confront once again the state violence of an outdated regime. We call the national and international community to witness the consequences of this dictatorial drift without precedent in the recent history of Cameroon. Arbitrariness and barbarism cannot overcome the determination of the Cameroonian people to free themselves from tyranny.
